Life at Sseko, Uganda

Secret Santa!

The Sseko workshop is a gaggle of giggling and whispering ladies this week. We realize it is early November which might be considered a little early to ring in the holidays, but we consider it a feat that we made it this far. (Last year, we started in September!)

To start off our Tuesday morning, Emma introduced the long awaited secret Christmas gift exchange and announced that the day had come to pick names for giving, which was followed by cheering and laughter all around.

The names were drawn.

The rules were set: it must be kept secret.

And the fun began! The ladies are delighted and so looking forward to the Christmas party and exchange in a month, and are already busy contemplating what they are going to give (and get!). The workshop radios were turned up and the dancing soon began. The Sseko workshop is not at all lacking in creative minds, nimble hands and giving spirits, so this year’s Christmas exchange is sure to be a party for the books.

We love our Sseko women and making them feel special. This Holiday season, Sseko is inspiring you to give a gift that gives back. By supporting Sseko, you’re giving our wonderful women the opportunity to laugh, hope and dream. Does it get any better?
