There are a multitude of reasons that working at Sseko’s U.S. headquarters in Portland, Oregon makes for a killer gig: A compelling mission that makes getting out of bed on Monday morning about more than a paycheck. The chance to wear and share gorgeous, high-quality products. A beautiful office space full of fierce and inspiring co-workers.
This past week, however, there was a more out-of-the-ordinary reason to love working at Sseko. In conjunction with our neighbors at Evolve Fit Wear, Sseko’s Brave Collective hosted an evening of free yoga in the park. Attendees had the chance to mingle while noshing on fresh fruit, hummus and veggies before engaging in a session of relaxing yoga as sunlight slanted through the leafy canopy overhead. After the last “namaste,” Sseko Braves enjoyed writing up bits of advice to send to our Sseko graduates in Uganda, who are preparing to leave Sseko and begin college soon. The Braves also had the chance to score free swag, as they were entered to win a Sseko bucket bag and received discount vouchers for Evolve Fitwear apparel.
Overall, the evening served as a beautiful reminder that Sseko isn’t just a fashion brand–it’s a community of courageous people connected by a common vision for empowering and educating women.
