This year, Sseko is turning 7 and we have a lot of amazing things to celebrate! Seven years ago, Sseko began as a way to generate income for talented young women to continue on to university. To date, we employ 50 women in Uganda and have enabled 71 incredible girls to continue on to University.
There is no doubt that this year has been one of the best ones in Sseko’s history. Today, we are celebrating by looking back on 7 highlights from the past year.
1. SO MANY SSEKO BABIES (IN THE US + UGANDA!)
There have many new additions to the Sseko family this year! In Uganda, Dora, Joyce & Justine gave birth to healthy babies. In addition, our founders Ben and Liz welcomed their baby boy, Theo, into the world in June! Our Director of Operations, Brent, and his wife have been over the moon excited about their baby girl, Hartley.
2. OUR FELLOWS PROGRAM HAS GROWN!
We have built an incredible team of Sseko Fellows and have over 100 women sharing the Sseko story all across the U.S. Read more about the fellows program here!
